A smooth cement supply chain begins with clear product requirements and practical site readiness. This checklist can accompany your next procurement request.
Choose the right type
Check whether the project specification calls for ordinary Portland cement, sulphate-resistant cement or another formulation. Provide the governing standard and required manufacturer approvals.
Confirm packaging and condition
Describe the required bag size or bulk delivery method. On receipt, inspect packaging integrity, batch information and signs of moisture or caking before accepting material.
Protect inventory
Keep bagged cement off the ground, under cover and protected from water exposure. Agree on maximum stock holding periods consistent with project quality requirements.
Schedule by consumption
Forecast site usage, unloading labor, storage capacity and delivery windows. Staggered delivery can reduce congestion and minimize unnecessary on-site inventory.
